Birchbox Review July 2013 – Beauty Subscription Box

Birchbox is one of my top beauty subscription boxes so far! The theme for the July 2013 Birchbox is Power Play, which is based off the USA show Suits. If you haven’t seen the show, I highly recommend it. The show is full of high-power, strong women who happened to also help choose some of the samples for this month’s box!

The Cost: $10 a month, including shipping
The Products: Birchbox sends out beauty and lifestyle product samples from high-end brands and popular favorites as well as new show-stoppers. Each month, there are about 40 variations on the box you can get depending on your beauty profile. Take a look at my June Birchbox here

Birchbox Bobby Pins – Value $2

theBalm Costmetics InStain Blush in Swiss Dot – Value $7

These bobby pins were so cute! I am definitely buying a whole pack of them so we can mix and match the colors.

This blush is my new favorite. The color goes so well with my complexion and still looks fresh by the end of the day. I also love the packaging. This tiny blush “magazine” is just too adorable.

Isn’t this so cute! I can’t wait to get more Birchbox points to get a bigger one. Fortunately, a little goes a long way with this and it will take me a while to finish this sample!

DDF Acne Control Treatment – Value $12

I don’t have to deal with acne very often, but I love to have something on hand for those occasional breakouts.

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream – Value $
Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper – Value $

I have not tried the Dr. Jart+ yet, simply because I am not sure if it is right for me. I have oily skin, and from the description, it sounds as though this would be better for someone else, what do you think?

“Enhanced with a megadose of ceramides—the lipid molecules found lacking in severely dry skin—Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream combats roughness, redness, and irritation and moisturizes for up to 26 hours. “

I have been using the Curl Keeper on my daughter’s hair since the day I got it. This is a nice alternative to the Beauty Protector leave-in conditioner now that I’ve run out. It keeps her beautiful ringlets defined and tight while keeping her hairstyle through the day (into the next day too!) without feeling like she has product in her hair.

Thoughts: This was a great box from Birchbox! I am a little jealous of the people who got the Benefit products since that is my favorite beauty line, but I am still in love with my box. I found so many new products to obsess over!

What did you get in your July 2013 Birchbox? What was your favorite product?

Yeah, oily skin, I don’t know. Although this product isn’t oily. It could possibly help or it could be terrible. I loved the Ceramidin so much I bought the liquid & the cream. It’s an amazing product for my dry skin.
