The New York Times, 36 Hours USA & Canada: Southeast – Retail Value $15

I have one of these books from my JLH Fancy Box from a few months back. I did end up keeping it because it was still really great to read through. I will probably end up keeping this book as well.

fancy mystery box review

Paddywax- Travel Often: New York – Retail Value $ 15

I was not a huge fan of the Rome candle I got from my JLH box, but the New York candle smells amazing.

London City Notebook – Retail Value $5?

I think this notebook is really cute. It has a surprising amount of paper in it, so I know it will get a lot of use.

DCER Box of Temporary Tattoos – Retail Value $20
At first I was not too excited about the temporary tattoos. I haven’t used one since post-finals parties in college. A few of them are really cute and my daughter loves sporting them!

Thoughts: You are definitely getting your money’s worth in terms of value with the mystery boxes. I was worried when I saw two items that were similar to items in a previous JLH box, but was happy to see they were different variations. I think it is a good example of the type of products you can get from their subscription boxes and would be a great option for anyone who has a bit of commitment-phobia with the subscriptions!

I subscribed to Citrus Lane a few months back and loved the boxes, when they had a deal for a free box last month, I had to jump on the chance to get another box. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Dish Soap – Retail Value $2.44

I’ve always wanted to try Mrs Meyer’s cleaning products, so it’s nice to get a small sample to test out.

Skip Through the Seasons by Stella Blackstone and Maria Carluccio – Retail Value $6.99

This book is a ton of fun for us to read. It really helps to show how the seasons change with each month. I love that it has a seek and find within each month. It’s a fun way to learn to be more observant,

citrus lane review

Green Eats Tumblers – Retail Value $6.28

My daughter has a ton of her own special cups that she uses, so this will probably be gifted. I do like that they are made from recycled plastic and big enough to prevent a lot of sloshing while toddlers attempt to run away with their cups.

citrus lane review

Green Toys Flower Set – Retail Value $27.99

My daughter loves playing with this flower set and I admit I have a ton of fun playing with her! This is definitely a hit with us!

Thoughts: This box was a hit with us! We loved pretty much everything in the box and definitely think the value was there for us. As a kid’s subscription box, it is definitely on the top of the list.

The Bouqs Review and Mother’s Day Special April 2014 – Flower Subscription Service

the bouqs review

Fresh flowers are the best way to brighten up a room. I always love getting new flowers to display around the house, which is why Spring is one of my favorite seasons (closely followed by Autumn!). When The Bouqs kindly offered me a bouquet to review from their concierge subscription service, I had to say yes!

the bouqs review

The Cost: $40 for one bouquet ($50 for 2 and $70 for 3) a month

The Products: Each month you will get a freshly cut bouquet of flowers. You can choose from flowers from the US, or from their Volcano collection in South America

The Concept: The concept behind The Bouqs is to provide you with fresh flowers for any occasion, or to simply have around the house.

Other Reviews: You can read my past The Bouqs reviews here.

Mother’s Day Deal: Get 2 dozen roses for $50 and get a $5 rebate (Guaranteed Mother’s Day delivery)

the bouqs review

I chose the Cotton Candy bouquet. It has pink Gerbera Daisies, Alstroemeria flowers, and Eryngium, Limonium, and Statice accents. I chose it because it has such a wide variety of flowers and gorgeous Spring-time colors. Just FYI, I got the double bouquet.

the bouqs review

My care for the flowers: I trimmed the ends and changed the water every other day. I kept them away from direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.

the bouqs review

All the flowers lasted one week, after that, some of the flowers started to wilt. The daisies were the first to go, but my cat also loved to play with them, so that may have been a part of the problem as well. Two weeks later, the Alstroemeria flowers and Statice are the only ones left.

the bouqs review

Thoughts: I am always surprised at how incredibly beautiful the flowers look in person. Everything is super fresh when they are delivered and securely packed. Compared to most flowers you buy at the store, I feel as though the flowers from The Bouqs generally last longer (my roses lasted well over a month!).

This tie is so cute, my grandmother’s dog is a girl, so I will be passing this to my co-worker.

The Fifth Paw - Retail Value $14.99

I thought this would be a handy product to have on-hand. It is much better than having to hold onto a bag or even worse – leave it on the ground!

Urine Off Dog and Puppy Formula – Retail Value $2.80

This is an essential for those first few months with a puppy – definitely a good addition to the box.

Thoughts: The total value of this box was over $70, however, I am not sure I would pay some of the prices that were listed. Overall, I did think it was a really great box for someone with a dog.

Wantable Intimates Review April 2014

wantable intimates review

The Wsntable Intimates box seems to be a favorite among a lot of people, but it’s been hit or miss for me lately. I was excited to see how this box would be.

Adrienne Vittadini Boot Socks Fuschia/Black – Retail Value $18

These socks are to soft and comfy – I absolutely love them!

wantable intimates review QT Intimates White with Yellow Trim Bikini- Retail Value $14

The lace and yellow trimming is cute, but it is a little too grandmom-ish for me.

wantable intimates review

Yummie by Heather Thomson Sylvia Camisole Flame – Retail Value $34

I think this cami is incredibly cute, but it is a size too small, so I will be passing this on to my sisters.

wantable intimates review

Yummie by Heather Thomson Carolyn Long Tank – Retail Value $54

I was surprised at the value of this tank – I don’t think I would ever spend this much on a tank. It does guarantee to help flatter your form which is a major plus side for me.

Thoughts: I am on the fence with this box. I did like a few of the items included, but with the cami in the wrong si box I’ze and not-so-flattering underwear, this isn’t the best box I’ve received from Wantable.

I like these dried fruit snacks. They are super crunchy and sweet.

This was very interesting. I never heard of spinning honey until it has a creamy consistency before, but I really like this and will definitely consider buying more.

Fiordifrutta Organic Fruit Spread by Rigoni Di Asiago - Retail Value $0.50

This was delicious. I love finding new spreads and jams, so I was really excited to give this a try. It was sweet, but still had a freshness to the flavor.

Organic Energy by Bumble Bee - Retail Value $2.69

This was basically a sesame and honey bar which was good, but nothing too special.

Honey Waffle by Meli - Retail Value $0.86

I love these waffles. I think they are my favorite. They are soft, chewy and very tasty. I could eat them all day.

I love the Sahale almond snacks, so I was really happy to see these. They are the perfect blend of sweet and salty.

Heart-tee by Wild Hibiscus Flower Co. - Retail Value $0.25

This tea is supposed to help reduce stress levels, which means I will need to stock up on a few boxes! I am not sure if it is helping, but I love the sweet, slightly floral flavor!

Thoughts: I thought the theme this month was cute. I found a few good snacks that I liked, but what really stood out for me was the chocolate mint honey and the fruit spread. I am always happy with my Love with Food boxes overall and think for the price, it’s such a good discovery box to get.

I was surprised to see a Mary Kay product in the bag. I have not tried their lip glosses yet, so I am excited to test it out.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfolliant – Retail Value $9.75

I tend to get a lot of Dr Brandt products in my boxes, but I don’t mind because I love his products and think they are really effective.

ipsy review april 2014

Benefit High Beam – Retail Value $26

This was the bonus item I chose for this month. I thought it was going to be a sample, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a full-size product!

Thoughts: This was perhaps the best Ipsy Glam Bag I’ve received so far. I received two products from two of my favorite brands, plus everything else was great too. The only way the bag could have been better were if I also received a Rainbow Honey nail polish in the bag. The bag was valued at over $40 (not including the bonus item), so the price value is definitely there too.
