Saffron Road Thai Red Curry Simmer Sauce - Retail Value $4.23

Thai cuisine is my favorite food and I especially love Thai red curry, so I was ecstatic to see this in my box. I haven’t used any pouched curry since college so this will be a fun was to relive those days!

Simply Organic Mediterranean Herb Greek Yogurt Dip Mix – Retail Value $1.69

I got my box just before Christmas, so I was able to use this mix to make a nice dip for the holidays. It was absolutely amazing and a few people even asked me for the recipe so I had to tell them it was from my Bestowed box!

KIND Dark Chocolate Chili Almond Bar – Retail Value $1.39

My daughter and I shared this bar and it was delicious. My daughter did not have any issues with the spice and I would definitely buy this again.

I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut Clusters - Retail Value $4.99

The quinoa clusters were something I’ve never tried before and they were very nice. I brought them with me to lunch today.

Snikjiddy Baked Cheddar Fries – Retail Value $0.79

I love healthier versions of not so healthy snacks so these cheddar fries were a big hit for my daughter and I.

Pacific Natural Foods Simply Chicken Stock – Retail Value $1.25

You can never have enough stock around, so this was a very welcome item in the box,

Thoughts: I loved the December Bestowed box very much. There were so many great snacks here and all of them were new to me. I liked that there was a nice blend of snacks and cooking ingredients this month and would like to see more of this in the future.

Bestowed Subscription Box Review November 2013

bestowed subscription box review

I’ve tried Bestowed a few months ago and liked it, but not enough to keep up a subscription. When the company offered me a box to review, I thought it was the perfect time to give them a second chance.

I love chia seeds. I put them in my overnight oats and smoothies so I am always happy to have more!

Eat Green Tea Whole Leaves – Value $5 for 6 packets

I have some Eat Green Tea from past boxes I haven’t used yet. I am very intrigued with the concept and will find a way to use them now that I have a larger stock!

Skratch Exercise Hydration Mix in Pineapple and Lemons and Lime - Value $1.95 each

I’ve gotten the Skratch drink mixes in the past and they are pretty good. I am happy to have more.

Nektar Naturals Honey Crystals – Value $0.40 for 2

Perfect Fuel Chocolate with Ginseng – Value $1.99

These honey crystals are a godsend. I’ve been drinking a lot of tea, but it is not practical to bring honey with me everywhere. These crystals now make it possible without me looking like a crazy person who keeps a bottle of honey in her purse.

Zico Chocolate Coconut Water – Value $2

Yum – this drink is just so delicious. It tastes just like chocolate milk only so much better. My daughter loved it too!

Thoughts: I was really happy with this box! I loved everything in it and I am pretty sure chocolate coconut milk is my new favorite drink ever. I am also going to stock up on the Nektar honey crystals. This is definitely an improvement over my last which was good – just not as impressive.

Bestowed Review, Coupon and Giveaway July 2013 – Healthy Snack Subscription

When I first tried Bestowed, I was really impressed by the products and the thought behind Heather Bauer’s curation. I was so excited when she offered me a free box to review and offered one of my readers a box as well!

The Cost: $19 a month, including shipping.

The Products: Snacks and occasional lifestyle products geared toward healthier living curated by Heather Baur. You can read all my Bestowed reviews here.

The Coupon: HELLOYUM gets you $10 off your first box!

The Shipping: US only.

Opening the box, I immediately recognized most of the products. This is definitely more of a Best.Of box for me.

Deeply Rooted ROOTS in Blueberry – Value $3
I had this in my June box. Drinking it on its own did not work well for me, but I added it to my overnights oats before and it was great!

California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil Packets – Value $1.50

This came at the perfect time because I just ran out of extra virgin olive oil. I think I might switch to California Ranch because it has a wonderful light flavor with a hint of nuts and citrus that I really love alongside my salads and pasta!
I love hemp and this is the perfect bit of nuttiness for my yogurt. I love that it is very soft to chew so my daughter can enjoy it since she hates the texture of harder nuts like almonds.
Bakery on Main True Bar in Coconut Cashew – Value $2
The True Bar was great! This is the perfect snack bar if you love a little bit of sweet, coconuty goodness in your life.
Oatmeal is a staple in my house. I go crazy if I do not have oatmeal around, especially for my overnight oats in the summer. I am always happy to have more oatmeal in the kitchen.
Herban Essentials Mini Pack Towelettes – Value $6

I love keeping these wipes in my purse. They are so handy to have on-hand, especially with a sticky toddler running around!

Thoughts: I really love Bestowed and the products included in each box. I think that the products really reflect Heather and are always things I love and use regularly. I do wish that I received fewer repeats from last month, but everything was still delicious which is what matters most!

Bestowed Review June 2013 – Snack Subscription Box

I think I am on a mission to try every food/snack subscription out there. Although I love a lot of the boxes I’ve tried so far, I cannot help but be curious about the other boxes out there before I settle down. Bestowed is definitely a contender for favorite.

The Cost: $19.99

The Coupon: Use code LOVEHEALTHY for $5 off your fist box

The Products: Bestowed promises at least five healthy snacks and lifestyle products curated by nutritionist Heather Bauer. You can read my other Bestowed reviews here.

The first impressions for me was very good. I noticed a lot of treats I really wanted to try!

Zico Natural Coconut Water – Value $2.50

I love coconut water and drink it as often as I can.

Deeply Rooted ROOTS in Blueberry – Value $3

Artisana Nut Butter in Acai Berry – Value $1.50

I tried the ROOTS sample first with just water, but I think I will need to use the second sample in a smoothie.

Bakery on Main True Bar in Coconut Cashew – Value $2
Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods Free Item Coupon – Value $4
I wish I could tell you how the True Bar was, but my toddler has a bottomless tummy and ate the whole thing on her own. I suppose that means it was good!

GimMe Health Cheddar Cheese Seaweed Crumbles – Value $2

Herban Essentials Mini Pack Towelettes – Value $6

If you know anything about me, you know I absolutely love crispy seaweed. I was so excited to get the seaweed crumbles that I immediately took the bag and put it on the side so I could have it to myself!

Thoughts: I loved everything in the Bestowed box for June. What impresses me the most about the box is that every item is personally approved by Heather and she also provides her reasoning (as well as some tips) for each item she included. This box is truly a wonderful balance of taste and thoughtful curation
