Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil – Sample

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - Retail Value $9

I have this primer from another subscription and I ended up really liking how it made my skin feel. It leaves a very soft, matte finish on your skin and is super light weight.

Smarty Pants Vitamins – Sample

I’ve tried these vitamins several times in the past and they’ve been alright. I am not a huge fan of the flavor, but it is much better than taking a pill!

COOLA Radical Recovery After-Sun Lotion – Retail Value $2.66

I love COOLA products and this after-sun lotions has great reviews. I am saving it for days we spend out in the sun at the park or the beach. I am really concerned about taking care of your skin when dealing with the sun, so this is a product that I know I will be buying more of in the future.

Pixi Beauty Shea Lip Balm - Retail Value $4

I’ve only tried a few Pixi products and while most of them are pretty good, this was nothing spectacular. I do like the color and it does feel nice on my lips, but I have a lot of other balms that I do like more.

Thoughts: This was a good box, but not my favorite. I am really happy to get the COOLA and the Smashbox primer.  What did you think of the May 2014 Birchbox?

Number 4™ Clarifying Shampoo – Retail Value $3.76

I love this this smells! Sample sizes are never enough for my to really try, so I use them on my daughter’s hair. Her hair felt really soft and styled very easily after using this.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel – Retail Value $6.68

I am obsessed with my eye brows and love to try out different brow products. I saw someone had the clear brow gel in their box a few months ago, so I’ve been waiting for the day it would show up in my box. I love the formula because it is not sticky, it doesn’t clump and is pretty odorless.

birchbox review april 2014 (7)

Color Club Art Duo Pens in White – Retail Value $10

I already have a white nail art striper pen, so I wasn’t too excited to try this at first, but it works so much better. The formula is great and does an awesome job at getting straight lines.

BijaBody Daily Body Serum – Retail Value $1.70

I use my body serum from From the Lab which I really like already, but I was excited to give this a try too. I love the smell!

birchbox review april 2014 (6)

KIND Healthy Grain Bars – Retail Value $0.79

I love KIND bars, so I was really happy to get a snack from them in my box! It was sweet and nutty, which I love. It isn’t much of a Springtime flavor, but I am not complaining!

Number 4™ Reconstructing Masque – Retail Value $2.84

This was not much for me to try, so I gifted this to a friend who said she would love to buy more if it weren’t for the price of the full-size bottle.

Thoughts: This box was not as excited for me as last month’s box which was pretty much perfect for me. I still liked a lot of the products and and happy overall.

birchbox review march 2014

INIKA Certified Organic Eyeliner in Green Lagoon – Retail Value $20 (Full-Size!)

I was so pleased to find a full-sized product in this month’s box. This eyeliner is such a pretty green color – perfect for Spring. I love that it is organic and it glides on so smoothly. Plus, the lid that doubles as a pencil sharpener just makes it that much better.

birchbox review march 2014

Gilchrist & Soames London Collection Body Lotion 2oz – Retail Value $4

This has a really nice, light floral scent that I am loving for Spring.

Keims Hair Care- Peppermint & Macadamia Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo 50 mL, – Retail Value  $1.90

The last time I had a Keims sample was from my Men’s Birchbox subscription, so I am really glad to get a sample for myself. I love the minty-fresh scent!

birchbox review march 2014

Jurlique Purely Bright Radiance Serum - Retail Value $1

I just received a Jurlique serum from my March 2014 Birchbox, but I am in love with the brand, so I am really happy to get more!

Jurlique Purely Bright Cleanser – Foil Sample

I was happy to get two Jurlique samples, but I would have rather get a bigger sample of the cleaner and a smaller sample of the serum simply because I have a full-size Jurlique serum.

birchbox review march 2014

Ghiradelli Intense Dark Cherry Tango Chocolate Square - Retail Value $0.45

I am not a huge fan of dark chocolate, but the cherry/almond combo is really tempting!

Thoughts: This Birchbox was a hit with me and it is one of my favorite Birchboxes to receive in a while! The total value came to about $27.35 and included a full-size product. Everything will be used and I am already testing out my eyeliner!

Ruby Wing Color Changing Nail Polish (Kitten Heels) - Retail Value $4.67

Nail polish is always a good product to get in my eyes. I’ve been wanting to try Ruby Wing for a while and their polishes find their way in and out of my Birchbox shopping cart all the time. I am so happy that I can now try them out before buying a full sized bottle.

Juicy Couture Couture La La Malibu - Retail Value $1.44

I opted to receive fewer perfume samples and I am glad Birchbox listened to my profile because this is only the second perfume I’ve ever received from them. I really like this scent though. Normally, I stick with my citrus scent (London by Burberry being my signature scent), but this is really nice too.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner - Retail Value $11.25

I struggle with my pores daily. Anything that can help make them almost disappear is great in my book!

Beauty Protector Protect & Oil - Retail Value $2

I LOVE the Beauty Protector line. I buy the leave-in spray all the time so I was ecstatic to get this sample. It has the same great smell and adds a nice glossy shine to your hair without making your hair look or feel greasy. It’s great. The only thing is that the bottle makes it a little difficult to use.

32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Crystals with IsoVoxy - Retail Value $1.33

This was like minty pop rocks which was super fun to use. I like grown up twists on childhood classics. I may get more just for the nostalgia factor.

Thoughts: I was really happy with this box, but the nail polish and the Beauty Protector made it hard for me to not love this box. I could have done with a sample that was not perfume, but other than that, I have no complaints about this months Birchbox.

Birchbox Review January 2014 – Beauty Subscription Box

I took a peak at my box online and was really looking forward to getting my box in the mail. This month’s theme was Go Time and is focused on taking on the New Year head-on!

In line with the Go Time theme, Birchbox included some resolutions for the year and ways you can achieve them.

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Creme (1.9 fl oz) – Retail Value $9

I am excited to try this on my daughter. My hair is very picky and will curl up with almost any product I put in it, so I won’t be able to use it since I never rock the curly hair look anymore.

Nail Rock Red Glitter (0.34 fl. oz) - Retail Value $7 (Full-Size!)

I was beyond thrilled to get this in my box because of my obsession with nail polish. I do kind of wish I received the velvet finish, but I will have a lot of fun using this around Valentine’s Day!

Under Armour Braided Mini Headbands (1 ct) – Retail Value $6.66

At first I was not all too excited to get the headband, but it is even cuter in person. It really goes well with New Year’s resolutions!

birchbox review january

Soak Handmaid Hand Cream (5 mL each) – Retail Value $3.33

I used to never be a huge fan of getting hand cream in a foil, but I’ve found them to be handy to give to people when we are on the go, so I like to have some stocked up these days.

Paula’s Choice RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum (0.17 fl oz) – Retail Value $3

Thoughts: This was a really nice box this month and I am really happy with everything I received. The total value of the box was about $29 which is almost 3x what I paid for the box. I always say this, but I really want to get a second subscription!

Number 4 Non-Aerosol Hairspray – Retail Value $4.50

I am very particular about the type of hairspray I use. I fell in love with the Blow Pro from my HauteLook Summer Beauty Bag and I haven’t really looked back since. I do like that it is it non-aerosol, plus you can get a free Number 4 Fleurs de Temps Volumizing Shampoo & L’eau de Mare Hydrating Condition with any full-size Number 4 product purchase with code NUMBER4GIFT.

Secret Agent Beauty Nourishing & Plumping Lip Gloss in Foreign Intelligence Flirt – Retail Value $4

I’ve wanted to try Secret Agent lip gloss for a while. I really like the scent, plus it has a very cool feel on your lips from the plumper as opposed to the typical heat or spicy feeling you get.

birchbox review december

Skin & Co Truffle Therapy Serum – Retail Value $25

I love everything truffle, so I was thrilled to find this in my box! I was also pleasantly surprised at the sample size which is generous considering how big the full-size version is (this is 10mL while full-size is 30mL). I will probably end up giving this as a gift to my mother because I am sure she would love to try it!

Twistband Hair Tie – Retail Value $2

Twistbands are one of my favorite hair styling tools and I am always losing them, so I am always happy to get more.

Birchbox review december

Nuxe Body Fondant Firming Cream - Retail Value $1 for both

birchbox review december

I adore this cute little extra Birchbox included in the box. This was to promote the new mobile app and doubles as a screen cleaner.

Thoughts: This was one of my favorite Birchboxes to date! The value was great – over $35! And everything will be used by me or as an awesome Christmas present.

JONATHAN ADLER Fireplace Matches in Purple Flame (50 ct) – Value $10

Happy Socks® Combed Cotton Crew Socks (One Pair) - Value $10

I love how cute these matches are! While I adore them and will be able to use them with my fireplace, most houses no longer have functional wood-burning fireplaces so I expect many people will find alternative ways to use the matches. Fancy candle matches, perhaps?

I was so happy to see these socks. They are so cute and I love polka dot.

L’OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream – Travel Size (10 ml) – Value $2

L’Occitane hand cream is one of my favorites. I have a few of the travel size bottles I like to give out to my friends in their gifts.

birchbox snow day review

Mox Botanicals Matcha & Clementine Body Soak – Travel Size (.50 oz) – Value $8

Chantecaille Flower Infused Cleansing Milk – Travel Size (0.27 oz) – Value $5

Chantecaille Jasmine & Lily Healing Mask – Travel Size (0.17 oz) – Value $5

This soak smells incredible and the ingredients are incredibly good for your skin. I can’t wait to use it this weekend!

I was a little disappointed in my healing mask sample. I do not know how big the original pots were, but I can’t help but feeling like this sample is smaller than the pots.

birchbox snow day review

Scrabble® Birchbox Edition Mini Game Set - Value $36

This Scrabble set is so incredibly cute! It is the perfect travel size on a nice holiday out. I wouldn’t be able to play with my daughter around because the tiles are so small she could easily swallow them.

birchbox snow day review

Three Tarts Gourmet Marshmallows in Cinnamon (2 ct) – Value $1

Askinosie Chocolate® Single Origin Cocoa Powder (40 g) – Value $3.25

This is the perfect pairing ever. I really don’t have anything else to say.

birchbox snow day review

(MALIN + GOETZ) Votive in Cannabis (2.35 oz) – Value $14

S.W. Basics Organic Lip Balm in Cinnamon (.15 oz) – Value $4

The scent of this candle is nice, but a little masculine for my personal tastes.

I was so happy to get the cinnamon lip balm. I am planning on using it as a stocking stuffer for my sister and I know she is going to love it.

Thoughts: This was such a great box! I do think the retail value of the Scrabble set is a little inflated, but besides that this box is the perfect winter box. This box is still for sale and I think would definitely make a great gift for anyone.
