Treatsie is a candy/chocolate/sweets subscription box. I’ve tried a couple of boxes before and like them, so i was excited to get the May box.

These little fruit pâte were delicious. They were like Turkish Delights.

CC Made Popcorn in classic, Rosemary & Cashew, and Pistachio Caramel – Retail Value $6(ish) for 3

My first taste of CC Made was from the December PopSugar box and I loved it. I was thrilled to get a chance to try two more flavors. This is probably the best caramel popcorn I’ve ever had.

Serendipity Confections Sea Salt Caramels - Retail Value $3 for 2

I was surprised at how large each of the caramels were. They were so creamy, salty and uber tasty.

Thoughts: I may be in the minority, but I prefer a variety of different products, rather than several flavors of one product from the same company. While I enjoyed the sweets a lot, this still bothers me about the box. Besides this, I think the box was very good and the value was definitely there. What do you think of the May Treatsie?

Candy Packs Review January 2014 – Candy Subscription Box

candy pack review

I am not sure if I’ve mentioned, but I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so when Candy Packs came to me about their candy subscription box and offered me a box to review, I was so happy to say yes. What I liked about Candy Packs was that they find unique candies from across the globe for you to discover.

I like that the information card gives you detailed information about each candy including where they found it and what it tastes like.

Mega Sour Pips – London

I always thought I could stand some pretty sour things – until I tried this. I lasted maybe 10 seconds before I had to spit it out. No one in my family was able to handle the sour. I even have a cute video of my daughter taking a very tentative taste and her surprised reaction. In the end, we had to wash off the sour crystals for us to enjoy the candy inside. This makes a great gift for someone who really wants something unique or wants to see if they can handle what I consider the most sour candy I’ve ever come across.

These creamy caramels were delectable. Soft, creamy and full of flavor. I would have liked to have a box with just these! I liked that all the different flavors were included, but would have liked more of each flavor to try.

Perugina Rossana – Italy

The outer shell of this candy reminds me of buttered rum for some reason. The inside cream is so delicious. It truly does taste like eggnog. It’s not something I would go out and buy, but I would definitely take a piece if I were ever offered more!

Thoughts: I thought this was such a fund discovery box. I love learning about the different candies from each country and I think candy is a really great way to learn a bit more about the everyday culture and taste preferences of each country. I definitely feel as though these candies represent what each country is about from my own experiences being in each country. I really cannot wait to see what other countries they will include next!
