Mommebox Review August 2013 – Women’s Subscription Box

mommebox review

A few months ago, I subscribed to the Mommebox quarterly subscription box, with a 4-month commitment. Between that time, changed some of my personal information and did not update this with Mommebox due to my disappointment in their subscription. Since they were not able to charge me, I received an email notifying me of my cancelled account with them. Much to my surprise, I found another Mommebox at my door.

Thoughts: I do not like to say bad things about a company because it is my wish to see every company succeed and do well. That being said, I sadly do not have any positive thoughts on this box. I did not leave any values here because I frankly do not see any value here. The one real sample is something my pediatrician gives us for free and I already have a stack of Naked Wines gift cards I will never use. After looking at everything, I almost wished I did not get the box, even for free.

I truly hope things turn around for the company. However, looking at their website I see they are no longer taking subscribers, so who knows.

What do you think about Mommebox? What suggestions would you give them for improvement?

Mommebox May 2013 Review – Subscription Box for Moms

I stumbled across Mommebox through another blogger and was intrigued. As a mom, I love any subscription box that is supposed to be specifically tailored to my need. I signed up for a Season (4 boxes shipped quarterly) and this is my very first!

The Cost: $20, including shipping for a monthly box, $15, including shipping per box for a Season of Mommebox

Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars in Raspberry $1.25 each
GoGo Squeez Applesauce $1 each

Yes to Cucumbers sunscreen
MD Ultimate C Skin Brightening Serum

$5 Gym Pact gift card
20% off $30 or more, plus free earrings coupon
30% off coupon

Verdict: I cannot help but feel underwhelmed by this box. The highest value item if the Gym Pact gift card. I do not consider the coupons to be of any real value and they may never go to use. I am happy to try Yes to Cucumbers, and the food items will be used, but I do not feel that I received the true value of what I paid. I love start-up companies and female entrepreneurs. I sincerely hope that they will work to make things better by next season. The concept is there, but the execution leaves more to be desired.

What do you think of Mommebox? Do you think I got my money’s worth with this box? If you subscribed, how did they leave you feeling this season?
