healthy surprise review

It’s been a while since I’ve done a review for Healthy Surprise and I was getting a little hungry, so i thought this would be a great time to give them another try!

healthy surprise review

Alice and Radiant Foods Kale Crunch - Retail Value $5.99

Kale chips are my favorite. I was so excited to see these that I ripped open the bag almost right away.

healthy surprise review

Inka Crops Plantain Chips – Retail Value $2

I love these chips! They are tasty and much more filling than regular chips.

Enjoy Life Plentils – Retail Value $3.99

I couldn’t quite place the taste of these chips, but they are really addictive.

healthy surprise review

Lemon Pie Coco-Roons – Retail Value $7.99

I liked these lemon macaroons, but it kind of tasted like they were heavy-handed with lemon extract. I would have liked to have abit more of a fresher lemon taste to them.

Farmer’s Crate Mango Thins – Retail Value $3.99

These made a great office snack. I loved how thin and crispy the mango was. It had a bit of tartness which was fantastic.

healthy surprise review

The One Bar in Apple – Retail Value $1

Peter Rabbit Organics Strawberry and Banana – Retail Value $1.44

My daughter’s favorite snack to get. She was thrilled to see this in the box.

healthy surprise review

Olomomo Cherry Vanilla Dream Almonds – Retail Value $2.50

I am obsessed with these almonds. I need to figure out how they get them so tasty.

Taza Mexican Chocolate – Retail Value $5

This makes excellent hot chocolate! I will probably save this for a rainy day.

healthy surprise review

Enjoy Life Seed and Fruit Mountain Mambo – Retail Value $1.33

I seem to get this snack in my box every time I get Healthy Surprise. I don’t mind because I love the salty dried fruit and nut mix!

Lady Jane Toasted Hemp Seeds - Retail Value $2.89

Hemp seeds are a crunchy fun snack. These were good, but the outer skin kept getting stuck in my teeth. Out of the different hemp seed brands I’ve tried, it’s not my favorite.

Thoughts: I love the snacks I get in my Healthy Surprise box, but I always feel as though the full price of the box is a little inflated, so whenever you can get a deal on the box, it is great!

I wanted to save these chocolates for when I had wine around, but someone ended up eating them while I was at work. I hope they were good because no one would ‘fess up to it!

Heart-tee by Wild Hibiscus Flower Co. - Retail Value $0.25

This tea is supposed to help reduce stress levels, which means I will need to stock up on a few boxes! I am not sure if it is helping, but I love the sweet, slightly floral flavor!

Thoughts: I thought the theme this month was cute. I found a few good snacks that I liked, but what really stood out for me was the chocolate mint honey and the fruit spread. I am always happy with my Love with Food boxes overall and think for the price, it’s such a good discovery box to get.

Orange You Happy

This was my favorite snack in the box this month. I wish I had a whole box of this! I loved the orange granola clusters and orange infused cranberries.

Oh My Thai

I did not think I would enjoy this snack, but the savory sweet contract with the curry and fruit was nice.

Copa Cabana Rama

I loved this mix. I was expecting the banana chips to be dehydrated bananas and softer, but I loved the crunchy contrast they had with the mangoes and pineapples.

7th Inning Stretch

I really liked this mix. It had an unusual twist with the pretzels which were surprisingly sweet.

Thoughts: I really liked my box this month. I really fell in love with Orange You Happy and I think I could eat that every day!

Chimes Ginger Chews in Mango and Original Flavors – Retail Value $0.45 for 2

At first I was tentative about trying these ginger chews because the last ginger chew I tried was overwhelmingly ginger and I could not finish it. These were very tame and I loved the ginger spice that really started to kick in by the end.

Thoughts: The March 2014 Love with Food was a hit with me. I loved everything and I am going to order more of the pasta chips and the macaroons.

Baron’s International Kitchen Mild Jerk Sauce

I love experimenting with jerk sauce. I was really happy to find this in the box and cannot wait to start cooking with it.

Better Off Spread Every Rosemary Has It’s Thorn Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter

I did not know how I felt about this at first, but the more I tried it, the more I liked it. It is mildly sweet and salty which goes well with the rosemary. It is a pleasant shock to the senses, but may be an acquired taste for some.

Thoughts: As before, I am incredibly impressed with the overall curation of the box. I am delighted by the different flavor combinations and companies featured. I think this is a really great box for foodies and non-foodies alike, just as long as you like to eat and explore!

Olive You – Mini crisps with pumpkin seeds, dates and olives

I love mini crisps and olive bread, so I thought this would be a hit with me. Unfortunately, the addition of the dates was not too great for me. If they kept it completely savory without the bit of sweet, I may have enjoyed it more.

Olde World Blend – Dates, figs and red walnuts

I loved this mix a lot. This was the first to go. I really enjoy simple snack mixes like this.

Caramel Apple – caramel, peanuts and apples

This was obviously a hit with my daughter and I admit that I really enjoyed it too. It was the household favorite all around and I am even inspired to make my own version of this.

Thoughts: For the price, I think that this is a really great snack experience and I enjoyed trying the different snacks they have to offer. Their set up is very similar to other weekly snack subscriptions, but I think the snack mixes certainly stand on their own enough to truly distinguish the subscription from the others.

The kind people at Nibblr were also kind enough to provide me with a four box subscription to one lucky person! Please enter below for a chance to win.
