The Crowded Tub Review August 2013 – Kid’s Subscription Box

When I first learned about The Crowded Tub, I was very interested in the concept. The Crowded Tub is a kid’s subscription box that sends out natural and organic bath time products for kids. I only have a few toys for my daughter for bath time and she’s been increasingly more resistant to getting baths. I thought this might help me not only find more toys for her, but help make bath time fun again for her.

The Cost: $29.95 for a single month.  Lower options available for a recurring subscription.

The Products: The Crowded Tub subscription service focuses on natural and organic bath products including soaps, bubble baths and toys. The company also donates to charity, for every 10 Crowded Tubs sold, they will donate one box to a local charity. Anyone can go on the website and nominate a company for them to donate to.

The Shipping: Boxes ship free to the 48 contiguous state. an extra $10 shipping fee is added to Hawaiian and Alaskan addresses.

This is the front of the product information sheet. They ask for the kids to color in the page and post it on their social media to share. I had a photo of the inside, but it seems to be lost. I did want to mention, everything was protected with packing peanuts which did disappoint me a bit because it did not seem very “natural” to me until I read through the information sheet which explained that they were made of recycled material and were 100% biodegradable. After reading that, my daughter and I had fun moistening the peanuts and building together.

Boon Water Bugs - Value $10

I thought this was a very cute toy for my daughter and I a very excited to get her to play with it in the tub Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get her to stay in the tub long enough to play.

San Francisco Bath Salt Company Bath Salts in Bubble Yum – Value $5

These smell great, very bubble gum-y but not too sweet!

American Baby Co. Organic Washcloth – Value $2.50
California Baby Calming Shampoo and Body Wash – Value $3

I love California Baby products so I was really excited to see one of their products included.

Vermont Soap Oatmeal & Lavender – Value $5
Bath Time Kids Bubbly Bath – Value $3

I love the smell of the Oatmeal Lavender. It is very soothing and great for bedtime. I think I will probably end up using this occasionally too!

Thoughts: I really liked my Crowded Tub box and I will definitely be getting more boxes in the future. This is definitely the most practical box for my daughter and meets our needs at the moment. I also love that they donate to charity which is always a win in my book. Everything will be used and I am hoping the new toy will help us get over her bath time anxieties.

What did you think about The Crowded Tub? Is this a subscription box you might like for your kids?
